Every year, Side-Out recognizes schools, clubs, and events for their Dig Pink efforts by celebrating them on the “Wall of Heroes.” For 2021, teams that raise more than $2,000 will receive a banner to proudly display in their offices or gyms.
Why $2,000? Everyone’s cancer is different – their treatment should reflect this. $2,000 provides one metastatic breast cancer patient with a personalized analysis unique to them. This analysis yields treatment solutions and clinical trials that can substantially improve the length and quality of their life. Given this significant connection, Side-Out is offering 2022 Dig Pink participants the opportunity to accept the 1:1 Challenge, challenging teams and individual players to raise a minimum of $2,000 each, having a direct impact on an individual living with metastatic breast cancer.

Since 2013, Side-Out and Sports Imports have worked together to award the top fundraising schools with specialized Dig Pink equipment including safety pads and Dig Pink net tapes. This year the top team will receive a special logoed ball cart and the next top four fundraising teams will receive the Sports Imports/Dig Pink logoed net tape, courtesy of Sports Imports.

AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
We believe that youth + purpose = change. Through the Ambassador Program young people learn how to become advocates in two steps, first by learning then by doing. Students get to connect and collaborate with fellow ambassadors, earn community service hours that matter, build leadership skills, work with a nonprofit, and learn community organizing.
The Ambassador Program provides young people the opportunity to make real change through education and advocacy; learning to be a voice for the underserved and leading their communities in taking action. Because of this, the Ambassador Program plays an integral role in accomplishing our mission of extending the lives of those with metastatic breast cancer.
During the 2021-22 year, we’ve been working to enhance our Ambassador Program. In addition, we are introducing new STEM initiatives to provide ample leadership and education opportunities for young people. More information will be shared in Fall 2022.
