New Web Site / New Fundraising and Registration System

After a long wait, we have finally updated our website.  We have made it a little more graphical and we have made it scalable so we can add more content.  We still have a lot of work to do on the site, but hopefully we will have plenty of good content on the site in the next 2 months.

We have also developed a brand new Fundraising and Registration system.  I am sure you want to know why we reinvented the wheel.  Well, we just want a better wheel.  The new system is a lot like the system we used last year, but it is a little more streamlined AND we are able to charge less of a transaction fee for donations.  We are now able to charge the industry rate which is 2.9% plus 30 cents per transaction (last year it was 6.5% plus 1 dollar).  This rate will go down as we start to collect more funds.  There will be some bumps and bruise while the tool is being used so please feel free to send us a note if you have any issues.

One other neat thing about our registration tool is that we can customize it for any fundraising event that you  would like to hold.  So, if you would like to hold a fundraising event yourself, we could post and manage your event via our web tools!!!

About The Side-Out Foundation

The Side-Out Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was established in 2004.  Inspired by one mom and embraced by the entire sport of volleyball, the mission of The Side-Out Foundation is to educate young athletes and their communities about breast cancer, both with respect to prevention and treatment, and to fund cutting edge breast cancer research.  Side-Out is focused on changing the way breast cancer is treated forever.

The term side-out refers to a situation in volleyball when one team wins a point while its opponent is serving, thereby regaining serve or control of play.  It is hoped that Side-Out will do the same for breast cancer patients, providing them with the support, education and best available treatments to regain control of their lives.
