Cancer affects more than your physical self. It challenges your capacity to cope socially and emotionally. Former patients and families faced these challenges and created communities to provide support so that today, there is a wide variety of help for someone confronted with a cancer diagnosis.
Below are some wonderful links to organizations that are dedicated to comforting patients and their families through the use of education, counseling, networking and emotional and financial support. The amount of information can be overwhelming, and it is very helpful to have an oncology social worker and/or family member/friend go through the materials with patients.
