FAIRFAX, Va. – The Side-Out Foundation and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) jointly announced the winners of the AVCA grand prize drawing on Monday afternoon.
The coaches who were drawn for the grand prize were Christa Branson from Lubbock Christian School (TX) and Sue Shifflett from Langley High School (VA). A total of 126 schools raised over $1,500 for The Side-Out Foundation through Dig Pink® efforts as of Nov. 15 and earned entries into the grand prize drawing.
As winners of the AVCA grand prize, each coach won a free AVCA Convention registration, roundtrip airfare courtesy of Southwest Airlines to the convention and NCAA Championship match tickets for this year’s event in Kansas City, Mo. (Dec. 14 & 16).
These winners will be recognized during the Jostens Coaches Honors Luncheon and will represent all the teams and individuals that raised funds through the 2017 Dig Pink® rally.
Coaches who were entered into the drawing joined their teams to fundraise as part of Side-Out’s 2017 Dig Pink® Rally efforts. The volleyball community has raised over $12 million dollars for Side-Out’s own stage IV breast cancer research. To donate to the 2017 Dig Pink® Rally, visit here.
