Fairfax, VA — April 20, 2012 – The Side-Out Foundation is excited to announce its partnership with Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh. As Kerri prepares for her fourth Olympics and her upcoming fight on the court with partner Misty May-Treanor, she is also dedicating time to help The Side-Out-Foundation unite the volleyball community in the fight against breast cancer.
Kerri is enthusiastic about the opportunity to give back: “I’m really excited to be working with The Side-Out-Foundation. They have done a great job of bringing the volleyball community together to support an important cause.”
Rick Dunetz, founder and executive director of The Side-Out-Foundation, sees this partnership as a milestone in the awareness and growth of its grassroots movement: “With Kerri’s help, we will be able to further unite the volleyball community and work toward ending breast cancer. Since 2004 we have invested in areas to bring the greatest amount of impact to the treatment of the disease; with Kerri’s help, we will be able to further energize the volleyball community to support our programs and aspire to Olympic achievement.”
