Summer…free time, fresh air and the annual Rock the Pink Festival!
April 23, 2012 — The Side-Out Foundation is hosting its annual grass volleyball tournament and introducing its first Rock the Walk Saturday, June 9th at Turkey Hill Park in La Plata, MD. It will be a day of friendly volleyball competition, walking, music and fun to benefit Side-Out’s breast cancer research and educational initiatives.
In the past four years, volleyball players, coaches and fans nationwide have raised nearly $5 million through Side-Out’s Dig Pink and Rock the Pink events! The first fundraiser was an outdoor event that took place in 2004, and Side-Out is excited to celebrate the eighth year of this special day with the event that gave the organization its start.
Side-Out also looks forward to incorporating the walk into the festival this year. The path takes participants around the volleyball courts so they won’t miss out on all the action.
