AVP and AVCA Relationships Secured

The Side-Out Foundation is pleased to announce its partnership with the American Volleyball Professionals (AVP) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

AVP Relationship

Side-out is looking to expand its fundraising and educational initiatives to beach volleyball, and will be at four AVP Tour stops this year to introduce Dig Pink® to the beach community:

  • VA Beach, VA
  • Manhattan Beach, CA
  • Hermosa Beach, CA
  • Mason, OH

In addition, Side-Out will partner with them for the pre-tournament Youth Clinics. Look for the Dig Pink® team at the AVP Cares tent, and check out their website for further information about AVP events. Get ready to pink out the beach!! And if you’re in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, come out to the first Side-Out/AVP Rock the Pink Tournament, a grass doubles event on June 12th!

AVCA Relationship

The partnership between Side-Out and the AVCA will bring a new excitement and unity to coaching and to the sport of volleyball in general. Together, they will award all coaches hosting Dig Pink® events whose teams raise $1,200 and above a free AVCA membership. Look for Side-Out at all AVCA high school coaching clinics, thanks to free booth space courtesy of AVCA. The courtesy extends to the Fiesta on Siesta in 2011. This summer, the organizations team up to make the second day of the RUNZA/AVCA College Showcase a Dig Pink® day. These new unions will command that everyone appreciate the strength and passion of the volleyball community.

About The Side-Out Foundation

The Side-Out Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was established in 2004.  Inspired by one mom and embraced by the entire sport of volleyball, the mission of The Side-Out Foundation is to educate young athletes and their communities about breast cancer, both with respect to prevention and treatment, and to fund cutting edge breast cancer research.  Side-Out is focused on changing the way breast cancer is treated forever.

The term side-out refers to a situation in volleyball when one team wins a point while its opponent is serving, thereby regaining serve or control of play.  It is hoped that Side-Out will do the same for breast cancer patients, providing them with the support, education and best available treatments to regain control of their lives.
