One of Maya Angelou’s most oft-cited quotes addresses heroes: “I think a hero is any person really intent on making this a better place for all people.” Isn’t it wonderful to know that any one of us has the ability to make a positive impact on the lives of those around us? That is exactly what you do each year when you participate in the Dig Pink® Rally!
Recently, we created yearly themes for Side-Out’s initiatives. We referenced “Together” and “1,000 Strong” in our communications, and we built a fundraising and educational campaign around those themes. This year, the theme is “Heroes”.
You are our heroes. Without your support, Side-Out would not have the means to support research for stage 4 (metastatic) breast cancer.
You are the heroes for each patient enrolled in the Side-Out Protocol. Because of your efforts, they have the opportunity to find a treatment that may better resist the cancer, with fewer side effects.
But this initiative is not merely to recognize you; it is so you can recognize the heroes in your life and in the community that supports and encourages you.
Who are your heroes? What makes them stand out from the crowd?
It takes a Team of Heroes to Fight Breast Cancer:
Honor one
Help one
Be one
