Summer…free time, fresh air and the annual Rock the Pink Festival!

April 23, 2012 — The Side-Out Foundation is hosting its annual grass volleyball tournament and introducing its first Rock the Walk Saturday, June 9th at Turkey Hill Park in La Plata, MD. It will be a day of friendly volleyball competition, walking, music and fun to benefit Side-Out’s breast cancer research and educational initiatives.

In the past four years, volleyball players, coaches and fans nationwide have raised nearly $5 million through Side-Out’s Dig Pink and Rock the Pink events! The first fundraiser was an outdoor event that took place in 2004, and Side-Out is excited to celebrate the eighth year of this special day with the event that gave the organization its start.

Side-Out also looks forward to incorporating the walk into the festival this year. The path takes participants around the volleyball courts so they won’t miss out on all the action. There is also a nearby dog park, so bring your furry, four-legged friends along! For details, visit the Rock the Pink page on Facebook.
