After waiting for almost a week I finally got called about the results of my PET scan. When the phone rings during that time I jump out of my skin and this call was no different. I had my husband answer to get the information. I already suspected that the Cancer was on the move again so when I heard there was some progression of the Cancer I wasn’t too surprised.
I have expressed Cancer tumors on my scalp for 4 1/2 years. It sounds bizarre but I can almost tell from my scalp what’s happening inside. My scalp has been very active for the last 2 weeks and I really suspected that the results of the PET scan would not be good. The question is what’s next for my treatment. It’s amazing how little is known about the metastatic breast cancer cells. Evidentally they restructure themselves to avoid the chemo and then the chemo stops being effective. My wish would be that metastatic breast cancer should become the focus of more studies. I eagerly wait for my appointment with my Oncologist to find out what the plan is. I am presently on Abraxane and Avastin. Tune in – I will update the blog when I have new information.
I continue to live my life one day at a time and try to stay as healthy as I can. Eat healthy, exercise, rest when needed and reach out to all the loved ones in my life. Thank goodness for you all and you know who you are.
