An Interview With Daniel Von Hof, M.D. “Context of Vulnerabilty”

Daniel Von Hoff, MD is the Chief Scientific Officer for US Oncology Research. A truly inspiring leader, he is a graduate of Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has served as a Professor in multiple departments at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Arizona in Tucson. He is the past director of the Institute for Drug Development, Cancer Therapy and Research Center in San Antonio, the Arizona Cancer Center in Tucson, and the Arizona Health Sciences Center’s Cancer Therapeutics Program. He has been a member of President George W. Bush’s National Cancer Advisory Board and the President of the American Association for Clinical Research and currently serves as the editor of the journal Molecular Cancer Therapeutics. He is the author of over 500 manuscripts, 130 book chapters, and nearly 1000 abstracts. I caught up with Dr. Von Hoff at the annual Translational Oncology Program (TOP) meeting in Houston earlier this year.
