Well my wonderful sister Marti visited me last week. I am honored she left the tropical sunshine of Florida to play with me for 5 days. It was a small vacation from Breast Cancer and did me a world of good. We kept busy but not too busy so that I could get my needed rest. The high point was going to the Kennedy Center to see Alvin Ailey. We sat in a box – what a blast! It was such a dynamic and energetic performance it made me forget that I had Cancer and I felt more alive than I have ever felt. What a treat! Girls night out.
The other evenings we sat on my couch in the sitting room, each with our furry blankets to keep us warm while we talked and talked. Couldn’t have been warmer. How lucky I am to have Marti as my sister.
